HONOURING OUR STOLEN SISTERS
Fashions For Passions Gala
September 23, 2015
Fashions for Passions was developed to create awareness and support to organizations working against violence and the trafficking of women and girls. Intimate violence and modern day slavery are prevalent issues locally, nationally and globally. The majority of victims are women and girls who suffer the physical, emotional, mental, financial, sexual and spiritual abuse due to numerous inequities.
Fashions for Passions aims to address the growing need for programs and services which advocate for and contribute to the safety and equity of these vulnerable victims. Proceeds from Fashions for Passions will benefit VWAT Family Services, Sistering, and Native Women’s Resource Centre of Toronto.
Several agencies and divisions are working with Toronto Police Service and community agencies to identify how to prevent human trafficking as well as provide safe, secure spaces and services for trafficked persons. Events like Fashions for Passions Gala bring awareness and education to the well being or our communities

To raise awareness about the prevalence and effects of intimate violence and trafficking, by supporting programs to ensure the sustainability of much needed services. By featuring socially conscious and ethical local designers, Fashions for Passions creates a space to discuss how various forms of violence and modern day slavery affects everyone and ways we, as a community, can contribute to solving these pressing issues.
